Who are we?

We are Michael and Noriko Haselgrove, a husband-and-wife team who have been teaching English as a foreign language for 30 years, first in Japan, then in Hungary and now in a small town on the fringes of England's Lake District. Our experience ranges from teaching small children to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police, from teaching how to greet a stranger to how to read Shakespeare, from how to speak to the person next to you on the bus to how to speak to large audiences. We take pride in listening to our students and helping with their individual needs.

What are the lessons like?

Lessons are conducted mostly online and are tailored to fit your needs. Most lessons include plenty of practice. As as student you will be helped to relax and express yourself freely.
